Club Car DS & Carryall Gas Voltage Regulator — Replaces OEM 1015777, 102711201

This aftermarket replacement voltage regulator controls the charging output on gas Club Car carts, so the battery stays charged without being overcharged. It replaces Club Car OEM 1015777 and 102711201, which Club Car parts manuals list as the voltage regulator in the gasoline electrical component box. A battery that keeps going flat, or one that boils over and smells of acid, often points to a failed regulator.

Installation — difficulty: easy (about 20–30 minutes)

1. Remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Open the electrical component box and take a photo of the wires on the old regulator.
3. Disconnect the wires, remove the mounting screws and take out the old regulator.
4. Mount the new regulator, reconnect the wires exactly as in your photo and refit the screws.
5. Reconnect the battery, start the engine and check that the battery is charging (a voltmeter across the battery makes this easy).
