Motor Speed Sensor with Magnet for Club Car DS, Precedent, Carryall and Villager Electric — Replaces OEM 102265601

This aftermarket replacement speed sensor mounts on the end of the drive motor and reads a magnet on the motor shaft, so the speed controller knows how fast the motor is turning. It replaces Club Car OEM 102265601, listed in the parts manuals as "SENSOR, MOTOR SPEED" and "SPEED SENSOR ASSEMBLY". A failing sensor can cause slow or jerky driving, a cart that will not move, or speed sensor fault codes.

Installation — difficulty: moderate (about 30–45 minutes)

1. Put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable.
2. Find the speed sensor on the end of the motor and unplug its connector.
3. Remove the screw holding the old sensor and take it off. If the magnet on the motor shaft is cracked or loose, replace it with the new one.
4. Fit the new sensor in the same position, refit the screw, and plug the connector back in.
5. Reconnect the battery cable, set the switch back to RUN, and test drive slowly.
