Club Car Brake Shoe Spring & Retainer Kit for DS, Precedent & Carryall — Replaces OEM 101816301, 1011466

This aftermarket replacement hardware kit renews the springs and shoe retainers that hold the brake shoes in place in Club Car self-adjusting drum brakes. It replaces Club Car OEM 101816301 ("PACKAGE, BRAKE SPRING") and 1011466 ("KIT, SHOE RETAINER"). Tired springs can let shoes drag, squeal or stick, so fit new springs whenever you replace the shoes.

Installation — difficulty: moderate (about 1–1.5 hours)

1. Chock the front wheels. On electric carts, put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable; on gas carts, remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Lift the rear, support it on jack stands and remove the rear wheels and drums.
3. Photograph how the springs and retainers sit, then remove them.
4. Fit the new springs and retainers as in your photo; replace the shoes too if worn.
5. Refit the drums and wheels, lower the cart, reconnect the battery and test the brakes at low speed.
