Rear Brake Drum for Club Car Precedent, DS, Carryall, Onward & Tempo — Replaces OEM 101791101

This aftermarket replacement rear brake drum covers the rear brake shoes, which press against its inner surface to stop the cart. Club Car lists OEM 101791101 as "DRUM, BRAKE" (later: "DRUM WITHOUT CENTER HOLE, BRAKE"), 2 per cart. Replace it if the braking surface is deeply scored, cracked or unevenly worn, or the rear brakes grind or pulse.

Installation — difficulty: moderate (about 30–45 minutes per side)

1. Gas carts: remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable. Electric carts: put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable. Chock the front wheels.
2. Lift the rear of the cart onto jack stands and remove the rear wheel.
3. Pull the old drum off; back off the brake adjuster if it catches on the shoes.
4. Check the shoes and springs and replace them if worn.
5. Fit the new drum and wheel, tighten the lug nuts to your service manual spec, lower the cart and test the brakes at low speed.
