Rear Brake Cable Kit for Club Car DS — Replaces OEM 102022101

This aftermarket replacement kit includes two rear brake cables, one for the driver side and one for the passenger side. They connect the brake pedal linkage to the rear brakes; the manuals list kit 102022101 twice per cart, one per rear wheel. Replace them if the pedal feels soft or goes too far down, the brakes drag, or the cables are frayed, kinked or rusted.

Installation — difficulty: moderate (about 45–60 minutes)

1. Gas carts: remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable. Electric carts: put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable.
2. Chock the front wheels, lift the rear of the cart and support it on jack stands, then remove the rear wheels and brake drums.
3. Disconnect the old cables at the brake pedal equalizer and at the rear brake assemblies.
4. Route the new cables along the original path and connect them at both ends.
5. Adjust the brakes as described in your service manual, refit the drums and wheels, and test the brakes at low speed before normal driving.
