Steering Gear Box Assembly for Yamaha Drive (G29) & Drive2 — Replaces OEM JW1-F3400-00

This aftermarket replacement steering assembly (steering gear box) is for Yamaha Drive (G29) and Drive2 golf carts, gas and electric. It replaces Yamaha OEM JW1-F3400-00-00, listed in Yamaha parts manuals as "STEERING ASSY", one per cart. Replace it when the steering has a lot of play, binds or clunks, or the cart wanders even after the tie rods and front end have been checked.

Installation — difficulty: advanced (about 1–2 hours)

1. Electric carts: put the Tow/Run switch in TOW (if fitted) and disconnect the main negative battery cable. Gas carts: remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Lift the front of the cart and support it securely on jack stands.
3. Disconnect the steering column and both tie rod ends from the old steering assembly.
4. Unbolt the old assembly from the frame and fit the new one in the same position with the original hardware.
5. Reconnect the tie rods and steering column, then check the front-wheel alignment (toe) and steering before driving.
6. If you are not comfortable doing this job, have a golf cart mechanic install it.
