This is an aftermarket replacement complete steering gear box for EZGO golf carts. It turns the movement of the steering wheel into the motion that steers the front wheels. A worn steering box shows up as too much free play, wandering on straight paths, clunking when you turn, or stiff, binding steering.

Installation — difficulty: advanced (about 2–3 hours)

1. Gas carts: remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable. Electric carts: put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable.
2. Lift the front of the cart, support it on jack stands, and set the wheels straight ahead.
3. Mark the positions, then disconnect the steering column and the drag link or tie rods from the old steering box.
4. Unbolt the old steering box from the frame and fit the new one with the original hardware.
5. Reconnect the linkage, have the alignment checked, and test the steering at low speed.
6. If you are not comfortable with this job, a golf cart mechanic can fit it for you.
