EZGO RXV Steering Column — Replaces OEM 608117

This aftermarket replacement steering column connects the steering wheel to the steering gear on EZGO RXV carts. It replaces EZGO OEM 608117, which EZGO parts manuals list as "STEERING COLUMN SUB ASSEMBLY" (2008–2015 manuals) and "STEERING COLUMN" (2016-up manuals). Replace it if the column is bent, the splines are worn so the steering wheel has free play, or the steering feels notchy or loose and the steering gear itself checks out fine.

Installation — difficulty: advanced (about 1–2 hours)

1. On electric carts, put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable; on gas carts, remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the steering wheel (a steering wheel puller is usually needed) and any column covers.
3. Disconnect anything attached to the column, then unbolt it from the steering gear coupling and its mounts.
4. Fit the new column, refit the bolts in the same positions and tighten them to your service manual’s values.
5. Refit the covers and the steering wheel with the front wheels pointing straight, reconnect the battery and check the steering from lock to lock before driving.
6. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, a golf cart mechanic can do it.
