Inner Ball Joint with Nut for Club Car DS & Carryall — Replaces OEM 101880201

This aftermarket replacement inner ball joint is part of the steering gear assembly: it links the steering gear to the tie rod so your steering input reaches the front wheels. Club Car lists OEM 101880201 (also 1018802-01) as "ASSEMBLY, INNER BALL JOINT" in the Steering Gear Assembly section. Loose or wandering steering, a clunk over bumps, or play you can feel when you rock a front wheel side to side are typical signs it is worn.

Installation — difficulty: moderate (about 45–60 minutes)

1. Gas carts: remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable. Electric carts: put the Tow/Run switch in TOW and disconnect the main negative battery cable.
2. Lift the front of the cart, support it on jack stands and remove the front wheel.
3. Remove the nut holding the tie rod to the inner ball joint and separate them.
4. Remove the old ball joint from the steering gear and install the new one.
5. Reconnect the tie rod with the supplied nut, refit the wheel and lower the cart.
6. Have the toe alignment checked. If you are not comfortable with steering work, a mechanic can do it.
