12V Starter Solenoid for Club Car DS, Precedent & Carryall Gas Carts — Replaces OEM 1013609, 1012275

This is an aftermarket replacement 12-volt starter solenoid for Club Car gas golf carts. Club Car parts manuals list it as 1013609, "SOLENOID, 12 VOLT", in the gas-vehicle electrical component box, one per cart. When you press the pedal, the solenoid closes and sends battery power to the starter/generator. If you hear a click but the engine doesn’t crank, nothing happens at all, or the starter keeps running after you let off the pedal, the solenoid is a common cause.

Installation — difficulty: easy (about 20–30 minutes)

1. Remove the key and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Take a photo of the wiring, then remove the wires from the old solenoid terminals.
3. Unbolt the old solenoid from its mounting bracket.
4. Mount the new solenoid and reconnect each wire exactly as in your photo. Tighten the terminal nuts snugly.
5. Reconnect the battery cable and check that the engine cranks only while the pedal is pressed.
